We are horrified to note that Mulla Moin Siddiqui, President of All India Faizan-e-Madina Council, a radical Islamist organization, has declared a Fatwa and offered a bounty of 5 million Indian rupees on the head of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, a senior BJP leader and 2.5 million Indian rupees on the head of Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena Member of Indian Parliament, respectively.

After the advent of ISIS, Indian Muslims have been considerably radicalized. People like Moin Siddiqui derive their inspiration from ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Al Shabab, Al Nusra, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Indian Mujahideen, SIMI and other similar terrorist groups extolling the virtue of violence, hate and savagery; and practice Islamic supremacism.

India is a sovereign democratic republic and runs according to its Constitution. Issuance of Fatwa by these hotheads is not only an antithesis of the democratic spirit of Indian nation but ultra vires of Indian Constitution, and hence illegal. It is a matter of great disgrace that radical Islamists run their own parallel government in a Hindu nation and brazenly issue orders to kill top Hindu leaders! The diabolical aim of these Islamo-fascists is to gag the voice of Hindus and terrorize them into submission.

Hindus and other non-Muslims whom devout Muslims consider “infidels” should understand clearly that Islamic Jihad is the doctrine of permanent warfare. Muslim religious scriptures ordain on Muslims to keep on fighting until the country where they live is converted from dar al-Harb (enemy country) to dar al-Islam (Islamic nation). Hence, it will be not only futile but also the height of our idiosyncrasy to believe that we can counter their bigotry and obscurantism by dilettantism; and will defeat the Jihadists.

It is also the first and foremost duty of the Government of India to protect their citizens from this kind of harassment and threats to their existence. Any procrastination by Indian Government over this critical issue will further embolden the radical Islamists, fifth columnists, agents provocateurs, sleeping cells, who are anxiously waiting to unleash murder and mayhem, death and destruction on simple-minded, peace-loving Hindus.

In order to stop the extermination, extirpation and annihilation of Hindus, it is incumbent on the part of Government of India to take immediate and stringent action against Mr. Siddiqui and put him in the Tihar Jail for him to languish there for the rest of his life.

Zhouzhuang - water town of China

In the world there are many places that are called "Venice." But the Chinese town of Zhouzhuang is particularly well suited for this definition. Zhouzhuang - is the oldest Chinese settlement on the water. Its history goes back 900 years. City is a series of islands surrounded by water. As in Venice, through which spanned numerous bridges. Zhouzhuang located 35 kilometers southeast of the eastern city of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province is known as China's first village on the water. It is one of the most famous water townships in China, noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses and the elegant watery views. It has been called the "Venice of the East".

Zhouzhuang is surrounded by four rivers of water that formed it eight streets, connected by a few dozen stone bridges. Bridges are very different, but the most typical are paired Shuangqiao bridges built during the Ming Dynasty. They consist of an arched stone span from one beam and stone. Architecturally unique is the "two-pass bridge," thrown across the two channels. Streets are rivers, passages are connected by bridges, and houses built along the rivers, which are the roads on which the locals are moved by boat. [First Image credit Alexandra Moss]

Zhouzhang originated as a village by the name of Zhenfengli during the Spring and Autumn (BCE (770-476) Period of the Eastern Zhou (BCE 770-221) Dynasty. It received its current name in CE 1086 during the Northern Song (CE 960-1127) Dynasty when the village, which had belonged to the fiefdom of Yaocheng, was donated to Zhenfengli's Quanfu ("Full Fortune") Temple – also known as Blessed Temple – by a devout Buddhist by the name of Zhou Digong, who owned this piece of land (note that Zhouzhang means "Zhou Hamlet/ Village).

Most of the old houses and bridges of Zhenfengli cum Zhouzhang stem from the Ming (CE 1368-1644) and Qing (CE 1644-1911) Dynasty period, though some are from the Yuan (CE 1279-1368) Dynasty period. Less than 40% of the structures in Zhouzhuang stem from the pre-Yuan era, while a few – including the town's new water tower and Quanfu Pagoda, the latter of which was erected in order to conceal the view of the newly erected water tower as much as possible (which explains why Quanfu Pagoda lies in the northwestern section of the town, near the new archway entrance to Zhouzhuang, while Quanfu Temple itself lies in the southwestern section of Zhouzhuang – stem from the end of the 20th century.

Zhouzhang is a beautiful, picturesque village of willow-lined canals that are contiguous with rows of waterside buildings with whitewashed walls and gray slate roofs, and whose wooden eaves are upturned in the quintessentially Chinese fashion. "Inland" from the canals and the stone arch bridges are streets paved with cobblestones.

Since the 12th century, Zhouzhuang has been connected to the Grand Canal, which extends from Hangzhou in the south to Beijing in the north. This development naturally brought prosperity to the region of Suzhou, and it was thanks to this prosperity that the region in part developed its own scholars and artists, and in part attracted them from outside. Many of these artists and members of the literati were either native sons, or chose to make the idyllic watertowns of the region their new home.

For a change of scenery, we took the HuZhu Express bus from downtown Shanghai to ZhuJiaJiao, an ancient water town about one hour from the city center. We spent half a day meandering through the town's narrow shop-lined alleyways and crossing romantic stone bridges over canals filled with wooden manually operated boats. The comfortable bus ride was only 12 RMB (USD $2) per person, leaving about every 10 minutes from the Pu'an Road bus station near Middle JinLing Road and closest to the DaShiJie metro station on Line 8.

If Rahul Gandhi’s lies were less serious they would have been a source of weeks of amusement in this column. But, they are serious and so must be analysed seriously. So we need to know why he lied in Parliament and at his homecoming rally by saying that Narendra Modi ‘borrowed’ money from big businessmen and was trying to repay this debt by taking away the land of poor farmers. He said this was the only reason why the Prime Minister brought an ordinance to make changes in his Mummy’s government’s land acquisition law. This is so dangerously untrue that I expected political pundits to refute it immediately. It continues to puzzle me that this did not happen.

It puzzles me even more that the treasury benches in the Lok Sabha remained silent when the Congress party’s future leader announced that the Prime Minister was trying to reserve the Internet for big businessmen. This was his ‘intervention’ on the issue of net neutrality. But since the Modi government has been so hopeless in explaining the reasons why the land law needs amendment, it should not surprise us that Rahul is getting away with repeating his most serious lie of all. This is that the Modi government is ‘anti-farmer.’ That it is a ‘suit-boot ki sarkar’.

If the charge of being ‘anti-farmer’ can be made against any single political party then it has to be the party that Rahul inherited from his family. For decades, the Congress party has in the name of socialism given farmers dole and handouts instead of irrigation, roads, markets and financial services. This is why 99 per cent of Indian farmers live in desperate poverty. So desperate that one failed crop can destroy whole families. So desperate that the average Indian farmer often makes less money in a year than beggars make in the streets of Mumbai. The truth is that there are no jobs left to give in the villages and this is why millions of small farmers migrate to cities every year in search of work. Often because of their lack of skills they end up as domestic servants and menial labourers. MNREGA was meant to have stopped this. It has not.

Experts estimate that by the middle of this century more than 400 million rural Indians will migrate to the cities. They would not be doing this if life in rural India were as salubrious as Rahul claims it was, till 10 months ago when that uppity, suited and booted ‘chaiwallah’ from Gujarat dared to become prime minister. The distress we see in farming communities across India at the moment cannot be blamed on Modi’s policies and yet none of his ministers has been able to refute this lie effectively. Venkaiah Naidu made a valiant effort in the Lok Sabha by pointing out to Rahul that the poverty of rural India could not have been created in 10 months. But he sounded defensive.

Other ministers have sounded just as defensive so it is becoming increasingly hard to remember that Modi has a full majority in the Lok Sabha. This should be more than enough political capital to at least refute Rahul’s lies. This has not happened. So the Congress heir-apparent has gone almost unchallenged on his charge that the Prime Minister is trying to acquire farmers’ land to pay his debt to big business.

The irony of the ‘pro-corporate’ charge is that the Modi government has done very little so far to make India business-friendly. The appalling retroactive tax that should have been thrown out in the Modi government’s first budget is still with us. Since foreign companies are being regularly sent lists of heavy new ‘retroactive’ taxes, why should they put more money into India? Indian corporations continue to be in bad shape on account of unchanged bad policies that came as a ‘legacy’ from Rahul’s Mummyji. And, smaller businessmen say without hesitation that for them there has been no sign of ‘parivartan’ at all.

On top of everything middle-class taxpayers are now likely to also become victims of tax inspectors. If newspaper reports are accurate, those of us who pay tax will have to give details of every foreign trip we make and tax hounds will follow us around if webuy something for more than Rs 1 lakh. So Rahul is telling a big, fat lie when he charges Modi with being the leader of ‘those who drive around in big cars’. This from a man who came home last week in a cavalcade of very big foreign cars. So he needs to speak carefully here. But, why should he not say what he likes since nobody takes him on? This could be because the Prime Minister, like many other people, finds it hard to take Rahul baba seriously. Big mistake. Serious charges cannot remain unanswered.

India’s other daughters – The village that plants 111 trees when a girl is born!

In a country that still favours the birth of a son, Piplantri village in Rajasthan not only embraces daughters but has created a tradition that benefits both the local people and the planet. This endearing village makes a conscious effort to save girl children and the green cover at the same time, by planting 111 trees every time a girl is born. A brilliant exercise in eco-feminism, this should inspire India and the rest of the world.
This wonderful eco-conscious tradition ensures that an increase in human population will never come at a cost to the environment. It is literally helping to ensure a greener future with each new generation.

The village gathers as a community and plants 111 fruit trees in honour of every newborn female child.

Village residents collect Rs. 21,000 between themselves and Rs.10,000 from the girl’s parents. This sum of Rs. 31,000 is made into a 20-year fixed deposit for the girl.

Parents are legally bound by a signed affidavit stating that their daughter will receive proper education. The affadavit also mandates that the girl should be married only after she reaches legal age and the trees planted after her birth have been correctly looked after.

The community ensures that the trees survive, attaining fruition as the girl grows up.

The villagers don’t just plant trees, they look after them as well. To protect the trees from termites, the residents plant aloe vera plants around them.

These trees, and especially the aloe vera plants, are now a source of livelihood for several residents.

This unique tradition was first suggested by the village’s former leader, Shyam Sundar Paliwal, in honour of his daughter who passed away at a young age. In the last 6 years, over a quarter of a million trees have been planted.

Villagers claim there has not been any police case here for the last 7 to 8 years.

This is a heartwarming and inspiring story that MUST be shared and replicated as much as possible across India and the world.

There is probably no other country where members of other religions were as safe as in India. Hindus always gave shelter to those who were persecuted in their homelands. Jews gratefully acknowledged that India is the one country where they were never persecuted. Syrian Christians under their leader Thomas of Cana (Thomas the Apostle did not come to India) were given refuge in the 4th century. Parsis came in the 10th century to escape the Muslim invaders in Persia. And in 1959, some 100,000 Tibetan Buddhist refugees found shelter in India – only 12 years after the British had left the country, divided and poverty-stricken.

In contrast, the rich USA with an area three times the size and only a quarter of India’s population allowed only in 1991 one thousand Tibetan families to enter.

Indians never hesitated to accept those who were in trouble and who wanted to preserve their faith because they did not distinguish between human beings on religious lines. Their attitude was that all belong to one big human family and all have the same divine essence in them. For them “religion” was not an identity but a natural, ideal way of life.

So what happened that nowadays there is a lot of talk that Christians are under attack in India? Have Hindus become intolerant?

No. Hindus have not changed. All the so called attacks on churches which were hyped up recently on many TV channels turned out to have been minor crimes unconnected with “Hindu extremists”. In other countries they would hardly find space in the local paper. Why were they flogged for days on TV channels? Why were Christian spokesmen given plenty of airtime to falsely blame the “Hindu right” and claim that Christians are under attack? There seems to be an agenda by the Churches and it would need to be investigated why so many TV channels obliged.

A smashed glass pane outside one church, a fire due to short circuit in another church, a theft of 8000 Rupees in a convent school, stones thrown by a mixed group of Hindus and Muslim surely don’t warrant hours of hyped coverage.

Yes, there was also the break-in into a convent school in West Bengal, where not only 1.2 million Rupees were stolen but a 72 year old nun was allegedly gang raped. This was shameful no doubt and this news reached in no time all corners of the world. It fitted well into the image that had already been crafted over the last 2 years – of India as a rapists’ nation. The Vatican radio spoke of India’s shame which went viral on the internet.

It turned out that Bangladeshi Muslims, probably encouraged by the Pakistani secret service, were behind it.

Typically, the media fell silent. The BBC ran a scroll that an arrest has been made in the nun gang rape in India. They didn’t mention that he was a Bangladeshi Muslim. Neither the Vatican, nor the cardinal or the bishop apologized for their wrong, greatly publicized pre-judgment of the case that it was connected with the Hindu re-conversion drive of RSS and VHP.

The campaign of media and Christian representatives against “Hindu extremists” is not likely to end soon. New incidents will come up and the Christian spokesmen will again peddle the “truth” that under Narendra Modi as Prime Minister the Hindus are emboldened to “attack” Christians in hate crimes and that Christians feel helpless and insecure. The TV anchors will continue to prod them: “Do you feel unsafe in India?” and all Christian spokesmen will again reply “Yes” and claim that hate crimes have increased since Modi came to power.

There are other voices, too, who do not take part in this back stabbing of their Hindu brothers and, probably closer to the truth, blame the Christian clergy for trying to sow discord between communities. Yet those Christians, like Robert Rosario or Hilda Raja, are not likely to get an invitation to represent the Christian side, because they wouldn’t further the agenda to portray Hindus in poor light.

Mainstream media has tremendous power to shape opinions. Churches have tremendous financial and political clout. Both obviously cooperate to portray Hindus as intolerant and hateful of other religions – contrary to facts. There is a third power that wants India to get a bad image the world over, at least as bad as its own image is. It is Pakistan. The Sunday Guardian of 21st March exposed that the Pakistani secret service increased its budget six-fold to achieve the goal that India is put into the same bracket with Pakistan on human rights issues and downgraded by the US Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).

This goal has already been achieved in regard to projecting India as a rapist country. In the west, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh are now seen as being on the same level. In fact, India stands out negatively: it is openly thrashed for its ‘anti-women attitude’, while it is politically incorrect to thrash Muslim countries. The German professor who quoted India’s rape culture as reason to reject an Indian shows the huge damage that this false portrayal of India has done.

Unfortunately, India did nothing to put the issue into perspective when the maligning campaign started, and it seems that India again does nothing to prevent an equally damaging, also false perception that Hindus are prone to hate crimes against Christians. Sometimes I wonder whether Indians are even aware how detrimental to India’s image abroad the media campaign has already been.

At least the government, if not the public at large, would know that India is neither in the top league of rape countries, nor are Hindus known for hate crimes and discrimination against members of other religions.

They would know that India has presently a population of 1270 million, and that it is unfair to compare absolute numbers of crimes with other countries. If the crimes that happen in the USA, Canada, in all European countries including Russia plus Australia were added up, then they could be compared with the number of crimes that happen in India. Can the media be made to give a balanced reporting on the issues it takes up? Does anyone remember the hype that media created about AIDS some 20 years ago? “India second only to South Africa” they screamed. Nobody mentioned that India had 1000 and South Africa 50 million inhabitants.

If the media were fair, they would discern that the charge of 160 hate crimes against Christians in the last 10 months, especially when those include theft and a stone thrown by a drunkard, is no reason to shout “Christians don’t feel safe in India”? Why do they play into the hands of the west which will be pleased to get a stick to beat India with?

In England, there were over 1,000 hate crimes only against Jews in the last year. This would equal over 20,000 hate crimes in India if it is put in proportion to the population. In USA, several Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims were killed only because they were Sikhs, Hindus or Muslims. Should the USCIRF not put the US and Europe on its watch list, before it even thinks of condemning India?

There are several indicators that clearly show that Christians are not persecuted in India and are even pampered:

The percentage of Christians keeps increasing. Their places of worship multiply manifold and are free from government interference, unlike Hindu temples. Many Christians are in high positions. Missionaries have the guts to openly declare that they want to plant hundred thousand churches in India and “evangelize the whole country in this generation” (from a Christian youth magazine called “Blessings”). Christians and other minorities are privileged and get special benefits like scholarships, etc. Christians can teach the catechism in their schools to Christian students, while ethic teachers in those schools must not mention Sri Krishna, or Hindu philosophy to Hindu students. Compare this with the situation in Pakistan and it becomes evident that the “operation equal blame” depends entirely on spreading falsehood and manipulating the world opinion.

How to counter this mischievous agenda? Certainly not by going on the defensive and giving special attention to Christians. “Justice for all, appeasement for none” is the way to go. The nun gang rape has been carried to the eight corners of the world as a ‘communal crime’ because the victim was a Christian. How would the kin of a Hindu girl feel who has been raped and maybe even killed by Muslims or Christians, yet neither the media nor even the police take any interest in the case, because it is not communal enough when Hindus are at the receiving end? Crimes need to be treated as crimes and religion should be out of consideration.

Hindus have no reason to be defensive. Spokesmen are dishonest when they claim that Christian are unsafe in India. It will be difficult to find any other country where Christians in minority are as safe and pampered, as among Hindus. If someone needs to be on the defensive, it is the Christian clergy and they may know it. Maybe that is the reason why they act as bullies in tune with the dictum ‘attack is the best defense’. They will stop playing the bully only when they perceive their opponent as strong.

Strength here doesn’t mean to bully back. It simply means to be clear, stick to truth and stick to dharma. It also means not to be afraid to point out the adharmic, divisive aspects in Christianity.

We live in the 21st century when science has discovered that there are different levels to reality. The apparent variety in this universe is based on uniform oneness. Our deepest essence is made of the same stuff, as it were. The Indian rishis knew this, ages ago. Where then is there place for a huge fire where billions or maybe trillions of heathens will burn for eternity after the Day of Judgment?

What is more of a hate crime: when a stone is thrown at a church by a drunkard or when respected clergy declare without any proof that Hindus are damned to eternal hellfire if they don’t become a member of the Church, and when they brainwash Christian children to believe this? Will TV anchors be outraged at such discriminatory, baseless allegation which can lead to real hate crimes? Will Hindus (and other heathen like Buddhists, atheists, etc) demand an answer from the Churches?

Christians who originally came as refugees, and later went berserk during the Goan Inquisition, are now on a well-planned mission with huge funds from the west to change the broad-minded attitude of Hindus from “We revere ALSO Jesus” to a narrow-minded “We revere ONLY Jesus”?

Contempt and intolerance for other religions is inbuilt in Christianity. Its goal is clear: all must follow Christ. Hinduism must disappear. If they say something else in Interfaith Dialogues, it is deception. The spread of Christianity is not in India’s interest. It is not in humanity’s interest either.

Hinduism unlike Christianity and Islam, has no agenda and never had an agenda to wipe out other religions. In India, there always were innumerable paths to the one truth. It is India’s job not only to honour their valuable heritage and educate their own people and the world about it, but also prevent their people from being deceived, threatened or allured by unfair means to a divisive ideology.

The Churches don’t succeed anymore to enforce belief in unreasonable dogmas among Christians in the west, yet their financial and political power is mind boggling. They have plenty of funds to defame Hindus and Hinduism the world over. India is no equal in this fight, as most of her own media seems to have switched sides.

Maybe the Prime Minister himself needs to point out on his visit to Europe that Christian Churches are on a massive conversion spree in India because they have this strange and baseless notion that otherwise Hindus go to hell. They should relax. Hindus won’t go to hell. Most Europeans will agree with him.

However, I don’t know how much damage the media campaign “Christians are under attack” has already done. I just checked with a cousin in Germany. Yes, he heard already that there were attacks on Christians in India…

In the past six months, a war for political dominance between the two sects of Muslims—Sunni and Zaidi Shia—has intensified in Yemen, the Arab country in southwest Asia that has been imploding since 2011. Saudi Arabia has been trying to thwart the attempt by the Iran-backed Zaidi Shia group to take control of the country.

In February, however, Yemeni president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi fled the capital Sana’a when the rebel Shia group—also known as Houthis—strengthened their presence in the city.

Due to the worsening condition of the country, the Indian govt on March 31, decided to send Gen. V.K. Singh, one of its senior most ministers and former Chief of The Indian Army, to oversee the mission and ensure safe return of its Indian nationals. The operation was called as ' Rahat' - which means relief in Hindi .

Here are a few facts about Operation Rahat, that every Indian should know about :

1) Saudi Arabia is attacking Yemen, but from the air. Their soldiers are afraid of setting foot on land fearing for their lives.

2). Pakistani Army & Air force form the bulk of Saudi force in Yemen, but Paksitani soldiers are afraid of landing in the cities due to the fear of being killed by Shia Militia.

3) Pakistani Ambassador to Yemen Dr Irfan Yousuf Shami escaped with all his staff, leaving behind hundreds of stranded Pakistani nationals.

4) What made the situation more complex was the fact that the airport and airspace in Yemen, is under the control of Saudi Arabia.

5) PM Modi called up Saudi King Salman for his co-operation in rescuing Indians from Yemen. Since the Indian PM shares a good relationship with the Saudi King, the King assured his complete support. PM Modi requested the Saudi King to stop the air strike for some time and also allow Indian planes to fly out of Yemen, so that Indians could be evacuated from the strife torn country.

6) The Indian national carrier, Air India, carried 488 people through three special flights from Sana’a to India on April 5. A day later, Air India is reported to have evacuated 574 people from Sana’a to Djibouti, described as the single largest evacuation by air in a day. The Indian Airforce had dispatched its C-17s on April 2, and brought back 358 Indians.

7) GOI decided to take sea route to rescue the expatriates stranded in Aden, a port city, after the Indian government’s plans to airlift them did not materialize due to attack on Sana’a airport.

5) Two merchant vessels and two warships — destroyer Mumbai and stealth frigate Tarkash — also left for Yemen, to help ferry other stranded expatriates to back home. The government had also pressed into service INS Sumitra to ensure the safety and security of the passengers from invasion of the pirates.

5) India’s shipping corporation also sent two passenger ships—Kavaratti and Corals— to assist the navy. In all, India sent five ships to Yemen. Small boats were used to transport Indians from Yemen’s port city Aden onto the naval vessels that could not enter the ports due to heavy firing.

6) Eyewitnesses state that, in such a hostile atmosphere, unarmed Gen VK Singh toured the cities & villages in Yemen, collecting Indians & anybody else of any nation, who asked him for help. He did not sit in a car or a Helicopter. He actually got on the ground & walked on the roads, in the streets & commanded the operation requested by PM Narendra Modi.

7) Because of the stunning rescue work done by India, 26 nations reached out for help in evacuating their own citizens out of Yemen. Countries like USA, Germany, France were amongst those which sought for Indian help.

8) Most aircrafts and ships landed in Mumbai (Bombay) , and the southern Indian city of Kochi. The evacuees were then transported to their hometowns by Indian Railways. The Indian Railways offered free tickets for their onward journeys to the hometown. In addition, State governments have offered financial support to many evacuees.

Its a matter of SHAME for the nation, that no leading NEWSPAPER or MEDIA channel finds this historic mission worthy enough to cover frontpages, or be on prime time. Its up to social media now, to let truth prevail.

INDIA SHOULD DISENGAGE WITH PAKISTAN

India should “Disengage with Pakistan completely. No Talks, No Visits, No Trade … Shutdown ‘Aman ki Aasha’ … And help Balochistan become Free”

My speech to the closing plenary session of the Jaipur Counter-Terror Conference hosted by India Foundation, Mar 18-21, 2015

Bhaiyo or Behno, Namaskar, Adaab aur Salaam Alaikum.
Happy New Year. Aap sub ko Gudhee Paadavaa aur Naroze Mubarik ki Badhaeean aur Naya Saal Mubarak Ho.

Seventy years ago today, the Red Army was knocking on the doors of Berlin and on May 5, 1945 it captured the German capital to bring to an end to the five year war in Europe.

In those five years, the USSR and its western allies that included tens of thousands of troops from our India destroyed the largest army ever mobilised. When the guns went silent, 50 million men and women were dead including six million in the Death Camps of Auschwitz where Hitler tried to exterminate the Jewish people.

Ladies and gentlemen, we were able to destroy the might of the German Wehrmacht in a mere five years, yet today, 14years after the United States declared a war on terrorism, we have not only failed in defeating the forces of international jihadi terrorism, we have ended up strengthening the very enemy we sought out to destroy. We should ask ‘Why?’ We don’t.

When Osama was killed, Obama declared Al-Qaeda had been decimated. When Saddam was dethroned, Bush landed a plane on an aircraft carries declaring “mission accomplished”.

Despite the Bush and Obama declarations years ago, we are today meeting here in Jaipur because the United States has failed dismally in defeating and army led once by men in caves. Men who had no Panzer divisions, no V1 and V2 rockets, no Messerschmitt fighters, no Stuka bombers, no Tiger tanks, no Rommel, no Hess, No Goering and no Goebbels.

As India’s NSA Ajit Doval disclosed on Thursday, the United States alone has spent 5.1 Trillion dollars on this war. For every dollar the Jihadi terrorists spend, the USA has to match that dollar with $75,000 dollars. Imagine that. Over a million men and women have died, yet we are nowhere close to “Mission Accomplished”.

The question to be asked is why such a spectacular failure.

Let me put it succinctly. To fight Malaria you need to drain the swamps, not kill individual mosquitoes. We have let the drains stagnant and sent missiles to shoot down mosquitoes. The result has been for every mosquito killed, a 1000 are ready to replace it and spread the disease. Instead of draining the swamps, we are shooting down individual mosquitoes, one mosquito at a time.

But to drain the swamp, we need to identify it.

During the Second World war we not only knew who the enemy was, we were able to name him, without any guilt or hesitation.

In contrast, in this 21^st21st century fourth world war, there are no Churchills, no Roosevelts, no Marshall Zhukov and no Chiang kai Shek. All we have today are midgets that celebrate mediocrity and practise appeasement. Appeasement that would make Chamberlain look like a courageous man.

Imagine a scenario during World War Two ifthe US in 1942 would consider Italy as an ally. Impossible, right?

But, today the same United States considers Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar — the sworn enemies of everything that liberal secular democracies stand for — as allies of the USA.

But wait a minute. There’s more. The one country, the elephant in the room that no one wishes to speak about is the original “Islamic State of Pakistan” the mother lode of International terrorism, yet the beneficiary of billions of dollars of American largesse.

In addition, before and during the Second World War, the motivating ideology behind Germans seeking world domination was the Nazi doctrine of Aryan supremacy , and all of us had absolutely no problem saying so.

In a similar manner the motivating ideology behind the Warsaw Pact during the Third World War aka the Cold War, was Communism that sought the ‘Dictatorship of the Proletariat’ and no one, not even Mr. Dange or Mr Namboodripad (leaders of the Communist Party of India) had any hesitation saying so.

This begs the question. What is the ideology of the jihadi terrorists seeking world domination to hasten the End of Times?

It is Islamofascism, the 20^th century doctrine of Islamism, which is the use of Islam as a political tool to establish Islamic supremacy on the rest of the globe.

However, it seems we are too scared to dare mention the word ISLAMISM. Our American friends call it “Violent Extremism”.

What is this “Violent Extremism”? Why beat around the bush and call it for what it is, i.e. Islamic Extremism?

Let me show you a graphic clip that best illustrates our Islamic Extremism. It’s graphic, so pardon my indiscretion. It is from Afghanistan and the tragic event happened just yesterday.

A Muslim mob beating to death a 27-year old mentally challenged Muslim women on charges, she had burnt pages of the Quran. After beating her senseless, the crowd then sets her on fire and watches her burn to death. In interviews people justify her murder.

What have we become that we would beat and burn a young woman alive, even if she had deliberately set the Quran on fire?

Now the question is, What is to be done.

I’ll make one general policy proposal and four specific recommendations:

Definition of Terrorism under Resolution 1373
On 28 September 2001 in the wake of the 9/11-jihadi terrorist attacks on the United States, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1373.

The resolution was a counter-terrorism measure adopted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, and is therefore binding on all UN member states. It marked a shift in international law. Until then, international law was presumed to be valid only if the concerned state had voluntarily signed the international treaty; whereas after 1373, the Security Council imposed the resolution on all member states.

Following 1373, India made a call for a global convention on defining terrorism and finding commonly accepted means to combat it.

Guess who obstructed the Indian initiative?Our good friends of the Islamic State, not in Rakka, but in Islamabad.

Pakistan, the epitome of state terrorism scuttled the effort by raising issues about “causative factors”, arguing that those who are “freedom fighters” cannot be labelled as terrorists.
It is unfortunate that the powers that matter in today’s world should only look at the tactics and methods used by such actors to define terrorism. To this day UN resolution 1373 exists only paper. Its not too late. Let there be a comprehensive convention against terrorism under the United Nations, which has been pending since 2001, when India first proposed it.

I say let us define Terrorism and then fight the state that feeds it.

Four Recommendations
But until then I have four recommendations for the Indian government:

1. Disengage with Pakistan completely. No talks, no visits, no trade.
2. Since Pakistan itches for parity with India, please shut down the silly March of the Roosters at the Wagah border cross point. This is the single most spectacular circus that puts the rogue state of Pakistan at par with the democratic, secular and dignified Republic of India.
3. End the ridiculous “Aman ki Aasha” that is a one-way traffic of ISI aunties coming to India and running circles around Indians, and even cause the fall of one of India’s brightest sons. ‘Aman ki Aasha’ is nothing but a shameful exercise by Pakistan’s upper class Hindu-hating, pan-Islamist Jinnah’s Orphans who benefit enormously. An entire industry has been created that is milking Indian goodwill to do the Pakistan military-civilian establishment’s bidding and propaganda.
4. Finally. Please don’t wait for a second Mumbai to create a Balochistan. Please start assisting the brave men and women of Balochistan today. Help the young men of Dr. Allah Nazar in the hills and Baloch exiles like Mehran Marri and Brahamdagh Bugti. Plan and work towards the policy goal, unwritten and unsaid, for the disintegration of the so-called rump state that refers to itself the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
   I say so-called state, not only because there is nothing ‘Paak’ about Pakistan, but because of the fact is Pakistan in 1971 changed its name to Bangladesh and what we call Pakistan today is Pakistan’s leftovers.-
