Hard to believe these aren’t photographs…………
Well known as a nature and wildlife artist, Tucker Smith was born in 1940 in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1952 he and his family moved to Pinedale, Wyoming. He graduated from Pinedale High School in 1958 and received a B.S. degree from the University of Wyoming in 1963, with a major in mathematics and a minor in art. After working eight years as a computer programmer and systems analyst for the State of Montana, he began painting full time in 1971.Tucker and his wife, Jean, returned to live on the Hoback Rim, 30 miles north of Pinedale, Wyoming in 1993. Their home is at the foot of the Wind River Mountains from which he draws inspiration. His work is in so many fine art museums, and demands top dollar. His drawing ability is great, his painterly style of painting is just incredible, and his compositions are so well put together. Enjoy the ride. I do hope as you go thru these that you realize that this is the beauty the earth affords. I hope you appreciate his beautiful wildlife art.“Return to the Prairie” oil on linen 16”x40”“Approaching Rival” oil on linen 24”x32”“The Watcher” oil on linen 10”x12”“Granite Wall” oil on linen 30”x40”“Lost Eagle Peak” oil on linen 16”x20”“Antelope Flats” oil on linen 30”x40”“The Old Rams” oil on linen 30”x40”“Oregon Buttes” oil on linen 20”x36”“Silvertip” oil on linen 24”x32”“Return of Summer” oil on linen 30”x42”“Rams being Rams” oil on linen 48”x40”Wyoming Sky” oil on linen 40”x50”“Bonneville Light Show” oil on linen 20”x30”“Drift Fence” oil on linen 14”x20”“Young Ram” oil on linen 32”x24'”“Breaking Camp” oil on linen 30”x40”“Moose at Dean Lake” oil on linen 30”x40”The Cut Bank” oil on canvas 30”x40”“The Head of Pine Creek” oil on linen 28”x36”
