BIRYANI BABA
There is a 'Biryani Baba' in India and He Has Fed More than 1 Crore in 40 Years
For 79-year-old Attaullah Shariff Shataj Khadiri aka ‘Biryani Baba’ religion is feeding the poor.
The Andhra man has been feeding biryani to the destitute at the Cheemalapadu Dargah for
the last 40 years and till date he has fed more than 1 crore poor.
The delicacy that has chunks of chicken or mutton in basmati rice and cooked in
desi ghee is offered to around 1000 people on a daily basis. Biryani Baba makes sure
that vegetarians do not leave the Dargah disappointed. Plentiful vegetarian
options are also available at the Dargah.
With a history of four decades of serving the delectable delicacy,Baba makes
sure that the preparation is supervised by him. He makes a daily inspection tour in
the cooking area and often lends a helping hand to the cooks.
The biryani is served as anna prasada at the langar khana. On an average day,
approximately 2000 kilogram of basmati rice and quintals of chicken and mutton are
used in the preparation. The quantity rises higher on special days when the number of
visitors soars as high as 8000-10,000 at the Dargah.
Baba says that he is just keeping up with the legacy of his guru Khadar Baba, who
initiated the practice of serving biryani to the poor. Since his death 40 years ago,
Biryani Baba has been shuttling between Vizianagaram and Cheemalapadu Dargahs to
meet followers who come to seek blessings from him. Among his followers are also
some of the renowned politicians and bureaucrats in the area.
The best thing about the whole affair is that devotees and donors constantly assist him
in everything- right from meal preparation to serving.
For those who have lost all belief in humanity, Biryani Baba is a live example that
goodness comes in different forms and it has got nothing to do with castes and religions.

Meet Srikant Bolla,visually impaired CEO
#InspiringStory : He is Srikanth Bolla, a 24 year old blind entrepreneur from Hyderabad. When he was born, his parents, who were earning Rs 20,000 in a year, were advised to get rid of him, but somehow he survived.
Despite getting 90% in class 10th, he was not allowed to chose Science stream for 12th; he sued the State Govt., fought for 6 months, and won the case. He scored 98% with Science in 12th.
When IITs and NITs didn't give him hall ticket for writing competitive exams, he applied overseas, and got selected in 4 of the best colleges ever created on Earth: MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon. He chose Massachusetts Institute of Technology, received a scholarship, and was MIT's first International blind student.
After returning from US in 2012, he launched BollantIndustries , where 60% of employees are poor, physically challenged. This 450 employees company is now worth Rs 50 crore, (1 crore is $10,000,000 ) recently, Ratan Tata invested in his venture.
As per him, “I was made blind by the perception of people." When the world said to him that you can't do anything, Bolla said, "But I look up at the world and say I can do anything." #Salute

HUBBLE'S BEST PICTURES
Astronauts
voted on the top photographs taken by Hubble, in its 16-year journey so
far.. Remarking in the article from the Daily Mail, reporter Michael
Hanlon says, "The photos illustrate that our universe is not only deeply
strange, but also almost impossibly beautiful."
The Sombrero Galaxy - 28 million light years from Earth - was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. It has 800 billion suns and is 50,000 light years across.
The Ant Nebula, a cloud of dust and gas whose technical name is Mz3, resembles an ant when observed using ground-based telescopes.... The nebula lies within our galaxy between 3,000 and 6,000 light years from Earth.
In third place is Nebula NGC 2392, called "Eskimo" because it looks like a face surrounded by a furry hood. The hood is, in fact, a ring of comet shaped objects flying away from a dying star. Eskimo is 5,000 light years from Earth.
At four is the Cat's Eye Nebula.
The Hourglass Nebula, 8,000 light years away, has a "pinched in the middle" look because the winds that shape it are weaker at the center.
In sixth place is the Cone Nebula. The part pictured here is 2.5 light years in length (the equivalent of 23 million return trips to the Moon).
The
Perfect Storm, a small region in the Swan Nebula, 5,500 light years
away, described as 'a bubbly ocean of hydrogen and small amounts of
oxygen, sulphur and other elements'.
Starry
Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh
painting.. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way.
The glowering eyes from 114 million light years away are the swirling cores of two merging galaxies called NGC 2207 and IC 2163 in the distant Canis Major constellation.

In 1947, he was said to have borrowed $10,000 to help his son enter the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), even if he was admitted “by the skin of my teeth,” as Dr. Bose later recalled.At MIT, where he initially intended to stay for two years, Dr. Bose emerged nine years - and a commitment to the motto “how can I make this better?” – later, with a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. While a student, he had indulged in his love for classical music and bought a costly speaker, only to find it fell short of his expectations when he played a recording of a violin. In contrast, Dr. Bose would discover, concert-hall music sounded good because nearly 80 per cent of it was indirect, bouncing off walls and the ceiling before it reached human ears.He concluded that it was not just the production of sound but also its perception that made for good listening. As a result, he would incorporate the principles of this field, called psycho-acoustics, into the mantra of Bose Corporation. One of the first products to come out from the company's stable based on psycho-acoustics research, the 1968 Bose 901, is still a mainstay of its product line-up.Throughout Dr. Bose's term as Chairman and Technical Director of the company, Bose Corporation chose to stay private and away from investors who would be concerned mostly with bottom lines. Consequently, the company could pursue long-term research – without immediate deliverables - that saw it become the brand of choice for many carmakers and architectural installations in the 1980s and after. Dr. Bose did not believe in the notion of ‘retirement age’, letting the company he founded enjoy his mentorship, and managerial and technical expertise until his passing. Bose Corporation’s emphasis on sustained original research came at a cost, which was reflected in its price tags for consumers. But the company’s products today enjoy an impeccable reputation that, true to its founder’s spirit, reflects its penchant for innovation and creativity.
